A black and white photograph, a head and shoulders portrait (rough proof only) of Jack Bickley, a World War Two N.Z. soldier. Army number 48015. The photograph taken by Johnson Studio. Jack’s Army Records can be found on archway.archives.govt.nz Part of the Jack Bickley collection. John Wallace (Jack) Bickley, born in Riverton in 1915, was undergoing teacher training in Dunedin in 1940 when he enlisted in the army and served overseas World War Two, returning to NZ in November 1945. Marrying his sweetheart Irene on 26th December 1945 and beginning his teaching career he taught until 1975 and passed away in 1978 in Arrowtown. Irene passed away in 2012.
