Wall Clock
Shared by Western Bay Museum
This round wall clock features a plastic case and large, clear Roman numerals marking the quarter-hour positions. It has three hands—hour, minute, and second—for precise timekeeping. Powered by a transistor movement, this clock uses early electronic circuitry with transistors to regulate time, replacing the traditional mechanical system of gears, springs, and escapements. Unlike mechanical clocks that tick at regular intervals, transistor clocks use electronic pulses to move the hands, offering greater accuracy and lower maintenance. The clock is battery-operated, making it both convenient and reliable. Kodak battery is included.
