The small Museum that tells a big story.

Nau mai, haere mai ki te whare tongarewa o Nga Kuri-a-Wharei ki Otamarakau ki te Uru.

We are a small modern museum situated in the beautiful Bay of Plenty, Katikati, sharing stories of the Western Bay region.

We take immense pride in the historical, cultural and artistic stories of our area and present these narratives in fresh and interesting ways, utilising our permanent collection of objects.

We have a combined focus on our natural, physical and cultural heritage with an aspiration to deliver museum and heritage centre experiences that go beyond the walls.

We offer a series of public programmes to school groups and other groups such as seniors. These programmes include Step back in time, which includes tea and scones made on our coal range. See our website for more information.
