Shared by Lincoln and Districts Historical Society, Inc.

Handwritten daily cash and contra entries for Broadfields Shearing Shed Co. Ltd. Charges for crutching, dipping, shearing and wages paid for same, also building and machine maintenance. Broadfield Shearing Shed Co. Ltd. (1900-2008) The Broadfield Shed was built in 1900 by local farmers whose flocks were too small to justify them building their own. The company was well supported by the community and began operations with ninety-six shareholders. The first Broadfields shed along with 17 bales of wool was destroyed by fire 26 October 1913. Almost a century later the second shed was also destroyed in a disastrous fire that swept through the Broadfield area.
