Fire. A large crowd watch Fire Engines tackling a blaze on 2nd of August 1929 at D.H. Brown Petrol Store, The fire was started by arsonists, with the loss of 120,000 gallons of fuel. Gilmore Motor Sprits was an American brand of petroleum products later absorbed into Mobil Oil in 1945. On the left can be seen Duckworth and Turners Shoe Factory Carlyle Street, Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand.
