Our heritage centre at Mill Cottage in Henderson covers the history of the area located west of the Whau River, from New Lynn to Te Henga (Bethells Beach), and north-west to Hobsonville and Whenuapai. Resources include artefacts, articles, essays, newsletters, photographs, local history books and manuscripts and maps.
West Auckland's early kauri industry is featured in a permanent display at the cottage.
Our specialist family history group is available to assist with your genealogy journey.
Mill Cottage is open 11am-3pm every Saturday, and family history group experts are available on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays.
