The Trust was set up in 2004 with the purpose of collecting, identifying, preserving and displaying documents, photographs and objects of historical interest related to health services in the Waikato District Health Board (WDHB) area.
The aim of the Trust is to have:
- dispersed displays
- in areas of special interest
- accessible to the public
- available for education and research
Important historical books and documents are held in the Waikato Hospital Library.
Historic photographs are stored in the Waikato Hospital Visual Communications Department.
