The NZ Snowsports Collection is the only one of its kind in the country. The official repository for the NZSC, our Collection began in 2005 and has been building steadily ever since.
In February 2011 the Collection was moved from temporary premises into a purpose built temperature and humidity controlled archive located in the Methven Heritage Centre - the only one of its type in Mid-Canterbury.
In late August 2011, the NZ Alpine & Agriculture Encounter was opened to the public, and its unique perspective and interactive displays are already drawing accolades. While visitors to New Zealand who want to understand the Kiwi psyche will find much to fascinate them, the Encounter also appeals to family groups as children can play with a range of multi-media and real-life exhibits themed around agriculture and the alpine environment.
