The Karamea Centennial Museum is a typical small rural museum, which holds an absorbing collection of photographs and exhibits on sawmilling, dairying, gold mining, flax milling and shipping.  We have easily accessible district and school archival material and family histories as well as an intriguing array of local artifacts and memorabillia.  The Museum was opened in 1974 and is run  on a voluntary basis by a small group of dedicated people.
