The museum which includes the society's administration and meeting room is an historic building relating to the railway history of New Zealand. It is over 123 years old and the original and only Onehunga Railway station. Although not on the original site, it is still located near a railway line and still located in the vicinity of its original site.

We have an excellent collection of railway engine number plates (originals) and now out-of-print publications, plus carriage plates and photographs. These collections are available to be viewed most days but cannot be borrowed.
