Tuapeka Goldfields Museum is located in historic Lawrence, Aotearoa New Zealand. Gabriel Read discovered gold here in 1861, kicking off the Otago goldrush. By the following year, our little town's population swelled to over 11,472.
There is heaps of history to discover here. Tuapeka Goldfields Museum is a busy rural museum with people coming from far and wide to research their genealogy and connect with their heritage. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
