Donations Welcome
We are a working Radio Station (Village Radio 1XT on 1368AM) broadcasting 7 days per week. We have been in the Tauranga Historic Village since 1984. We are on the first floor of the Historic Town Board Building.
We use equipment of the early days of broadcasting, one transmitter a Collins is 75 years old and is believed to be the only working one in the world which we use on special occasions.
Through donations we have one of the largest vinyl record collections in New Zealand.
In our museum we have many radios, broadcasting, recording and communication equipment of yesteryear.
