Housed in a charming 1913 heritage building in the centre of town, Motueka District Museum offers a unique journey into the past. Our building is the old High School building and has been registered with NZ Historic Places Trust since 2002.
The museum tells the stories of the region's past through permanent displays and temporary exhibitions which reflect local history and current issues.
We also house a public research room where visitors can learn more of the history of the area or that of their ancestors. Members of the Motueka Historical Association are available on Tuesdays to assist in research. The research room is open museum hours.
