Te Aroha & District Museum operates in the historical Cadman Bathhouse, which opened in 1898, the focal point of the Te Aroha Domain. The bathhouse reflects the popularity of Te Aroha as a tourist destination as an early spa town in New Zealand. Gold mining and farming were also early influences for coming to and settling in Te Aroha.
The museum's volunteers care for a collection of objects, archives, photographs, maps and books that explore the local history of Te Aroha and districts, and the people who have lived here. Volunteer museum hosts welcome visitors to the museum and can assist with any enquiries.
