The New Zealand Parliamentary Collection

Comprising over 4,500 items, the Parliamentary Collection is one of New Zealand’s most significant art and heritage collections. Our collection documents the history of Parliament, our mahi, people and buildings, and features artworks by some of Aotearoa’s best-known artists. Many of our artworks and objects are displayed in public areas across the parliamentary precinct and working collection items are in regular use. Formalised in the 1990s, the collection contributes to the understanding of the historic and current workings of New Zealand’s Parliament. By digitising the collection, we aim to open opportunities for education and reflection to the broader public.
