Dancing Faun Figurine

The bronze figurine is of a faun, or satyr, striding out with his arms raised and looking to the sky. His curly hair is adorned with a wreath of acorns. This is a copy of a famous Roman bronze found at Pompeii, the Dancing Faun. The Dancing Faun figurine was originally found in the House of the Faun (named after the figurine) which was covered in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 CE. The o... [Accession number: 223.15]
