Napier War Memorial Hall under construction

The photograph shows builders working on the construction of the Napier War Memorial centre, designed by local architect Guy Natusch. The building was completed in 1956 and officially opened in July the following year. The floral clock in the foreground was donated to the citizens of Napier by the photographer AB Hurst and his wife. The date shown on the floral clock is 23 July 1956.
