There is a green paper tag attached to stem with text: "BUDDY" POPPY / Trade mark Reg. U.S. Pat. Office / "WEAR IT PROUDLY" on reverse: Made by Disabled Veterans. For Veterans Assistance Programs of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
