David Taylor Carter wrote a poem about the voyage from England to New Zealand in 1873. This voyage , which carried immigrants from England to New Zealand, was the most trying and dangerous of the ships long history. On the night of February 1st 1873 the ship was caught in a terrible storm with winds reaching near hurricane force the next day....
