This photograph is of Mary Stuart who was 14 at the time of the voyage in 1873. It was taken in Glasgow and may have been her passport photograph. Mary travelled with her brother Alexander Penrice Stuart who was 11. We have not been able to find out why they travelled alone, their mother was still in England, with their brother James Crookston...
