Take a peaceful break between Rotorua and Hamilton and view early New Zealand in its infinite variety at this privately owned museum. The large collection includes furniture, clocks, lamps, all sorts of household articles, tobacco and honey tins, bottles, crocks, tools, heaters, radios and the list goes on.
Machinery includes tractors, horse drawn vehicles, petrol pumps, oil tins, farm machinery and stationary engines. This museum houses the oldest mobile tractor in the Waikato. Military memorabilia includes paper money from a prisoner of war camp, a 40mm Bofors gun, World War I and II Roll of Honour Boards and lots more.
Bees are also a theme with vintage beekeeping gear, and a display of local honey products. All this in a quiet country spot, complete with picnic tables and barbecue facilities for groups.
